Wentworth Falls is where we are based, so this is the area we know best. The village straddles the Great Western Highway, with Falls Road dropping south towards the lookouts and the Darwins Walk area, and Kings Tableland Road running out along the ridge to the south-east.
The highway through the village carries constant heavy traffic, and the shoulder is narrow in places, so a vehicle that stops on the main road needs clearing rather than roadside patching. Away from the highway the streets are quieter but steeper, particularly on the southern side as the land falls towards the valley.
Kings Tableland Road is the one that catches people out. It starts as ordinary sealed road and progressively deteriorates as it runs south, and vehicles that are entirely happy on the highway can find themselves stuck well beyond where the surface gave up. If that is where you are, the distance along the road matters more than the address.
